The s'Hostal Quarries are a vast, labyrinthine universe carved into the ground, as a result of the manual and mechanical extraction of mares, the type of stone used in the traditional construction of buildings on the island. The quarries are the trace of man's work in the landscape and a heritage that has been regenerated as a large garden and center for stone culture. The s'Hostal Quarries were declared an Asset of Ethnological Interest in 2017 by the Consell de Menorca.
