Creada por la coreógrafa y bailarina Shreyashee Nag, esta obra reúne Kathak, inspirado en danzas contemporánea y flamenco en un diálogo poético entre India y España. Inspirada en los poesia de Rabindranath Tagore y Federico García Lorca, la pieza explora temas de memoria, identidad y pertenencia a través del ritmo y el movimiento.
En el corazón de la obra habita una experiencia profundamente humana: la nostalgia por nuestras raíces cuando dejamos atrás la tierra conocida en busca de nuevos horizontes y una vida mejor.
Presentada en el contexto del Año de la Cultura España–India 2026, la pieza también refleja el espíritu multicultural de Barcelona, con intérpretes procedentes de distintas partes del mundo. A través del encuentro entre Kathak y flamenco, la obra se convierte en un lenguaje artístico compartido que tiende puentes entre culturas y celebra la diversidad.
Shreyashee Nag, galardonada con los Premis de la Crítica d'Arts Escèniques 2023 por su pieza en solitario Above, está acompañada por un equipo de 8 bailarines que aportan técnicas diversas y habilidades interpretativas únicas en esta obra.

Shreyashee Nag Dance Company
Created by choreographer and dancer Shreyashee Nag, this performance brings together Kathak inspired by contemporary and flamenco dance in a poetic dialogue between India and Spain. Inspired by the writings of Rabindranath Tagore and Federico García Lorca, the work explores themes of memory, identity, and belonging through rhythm and movement.
At its heart lies a deeply human experience: the quiet longing for our roots as we leave familiar lands behind in search of new horizons and better lives.
Presented in the context of the Spain–India Year of Culture 2026, the piece also reflects the multicultural spirit of Barcelona, with performers from different parts of the world. Through the meeting of Kathak and flamenco, the performance becomes a shared artistic language that bridges cultures and celebrates diversity.
Shreyashee Nag is the recipient of the Premis de la Crítica d'Arts Escèniques 2023 for her solo piece Above. She is accompanied by a team of 8 dancers who will bring in their diverse dance techniques and unique interpretative skills in this show.
